The Indigenous Health Research Unit at Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) has launched the first module of its Indigenous Health Research Foundations (IHRF) training series. Developed to support culturally safer and more respectful research practices, the course introduces key concepts, including the impacts of colonization and the importance of Indigenous perspectives in health research. The first module is now available on the Learning Hub, with additional modules to follow.
- Module 1 provides the context, introducing foundational concepts that are necessary in understanding the other Modules.
- Module 2 will explore some of the introductory topics in more depth to help researchers learn how to partner meaningfully and design appropriate studies with Indigenous Peoples.
- Module 3 will focus on working with Indigenous Elders in a research setting.
- Module 4 will focus on Knowledge Translation and Mobilization in Indigenous contexts.
