What is REB Exchange (REBX)?
As of June 17, 2024, RISe has an REBX feature that will connect human research ethics application platforms: RISe (UBC), IRISS (UCalgary), and ARISE (UAlberta) to facilitate the exchange of information and documents.
By connecting these platforms through the REBX, researchers can experience reduced time and effort to obtain, and maintain, research ethics approval for multi-site research at participating sites.
The REBX simplifies collaboration and enables the reciprocal ethics processes. Please note that each REB will decide the review process on a case-by-case basis. Even with Alberta REB approval, UBC REBs will still conduct a review.
It is optional to use this feature.
Phased Approach:
The initial launch of REBX at UBC will be a Phased approach, as per the table below

Please note that each REB will decide the review process on a case-by-case basis.
